I am a qualified counsellor with a passion for supporting people through life’s challenges. I am committed to providing a warm, confidential and non-judgemental space where, together, we can explore your personal experiences and how they are impacting on your life. I believe that, with the right support, you can gain a deeper understanding and acceptance of yourself – counselling is a collaborative experience and works best when you feel understood and valued. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck or need to be heard, I will work with you to make sense of your personal struggle and help you to make positive changes to achieve emotional wellbeing. I value each individual so our work together will be shaped around you — your experiences, your pace, and what feels most important.
I have experience of working with a wide range of emotional issues including depression, anxiety, bereavement, loss, trauma, disordered eating, low self-esteem, life transition, relationship difficultiesand work-related stress.
I am a qualified counsellor with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, awarded by the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB).
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I practice according to its ethical framework.
I undertake regular continuing professional development workshops and courses to maintain my skills and knowledge.
I also attend clinical supervision to support and enhance my work with clients.
My aim as a counsellor is to create a safe, empathic space for you to explore your inner world. I am non-judgemental, supportive and open to creating the conditions you need to talk openly. I value honesty and congruence, and work with you to find a version of yourself you can like and be proud of. As a qualified holistic therapist, as well as counsellor, I draw on somatic techniques to help regulate the traumatised nervous system alongside the emotional centres of the brain.
As your counsellor, I work in an integrative way, blending a Person-Centred approach with elements of Cognitive, Psychodynamic, Somatic and Existential therapy. I specialise in working with adolescents and young adults, particularly with issues stemming from neurodiversity and childhood trauma. I also work with couples and individuals, drawing on relational techniques to provide positive emotional experiences to counter the past damaging ones.
